Pressigny
A rural setting that invites you to relax, unwind and pause to smell the roses. Not to be confused with Pressigny in Haute-Marne in the eastern side of France, Pressigny in Deux-Sevres sits in France’s southwest, an easy drive to La Rochelle for a day at the beach. The tiny village is home to less than 200 residents and is surrounded by woodland and fields of sunflowers. Country walks begin on our doorstep, and elegant chateaux are found in nearby villages and towns. The walled gardens provide the perfect sanctuary from a hectic world and gravel pathways provide a place to try your hand at a game of Boules, Petanque or Bocce.

Take some time out
Each Uniquely French property at Pressigny has its own private walled garden. Pass the day away floating in the Priory’s pool, have a BBQ and roast marshmallows on the fire pit in the Tower garden, or simply sit in the Priory garden whilst you watch the bees buzz around the lavender and listen to the birds sing from the trees. If you fancy something a little more active, take a country walk, arrange for a picnic, go riding or waterskiing or explore one of the local vineyards and sample their wines
Sample local delights, try your hand at French cuisine, and sip local wines.
Each property comes with a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking up a feast of local produce! Ingredients for your meals can be obtained from our closest town, Thenezay, where the boulangerie, a Sunday market (with the freshest of oysters!), a bank, supermarket, and post office can be found. Fresh pastries and bread can be delivered to your door five days a week – so place your order for your freshly prepared breakfast pastries with Paula. Local vineyards are happy to let you sample their wares and purchase bottles to take home with you.
