Well behaved dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcomed at several of our Uniquely French properties. Le Prieure, La Tour and L’ Atelier all have private, secure gardens that are ideal for four-legged friends.

Dog-Friendly, Human Helpful
We have dog bowls, blankets, cushions, toys, treats, poo bags and even shampoo! If your dogs prefer their home comforts, please feel free to bring their bed or basket and favourite toys along. We can have a maximum of two dogs in the Priory, the Tower or L’ Atelier. Dogs are charged at €25 per pooch, per week.

Little Extras for Fido
Collars, leads, toys and treats are available locally. Vetinary Clinique Les Charmilles in Parthenay has a great selection, 7, Rue de l'yser, 79000.
Out and About, Pooch Play
Country trails start at the front gates of the properties. Please keep dogs on leads around populated areas, off lead along the trail. Many country walks, riverside trails and woodland paths in the area are suitable for dogs. We’ve detailed them in our welcome pack, but mapped our resident dog Ella’s favourites for you.
Wet Dog
Wonderful river walks at the nearby village of La Grimaudiére. A beautiful island garden and mill wheel on the river La Dive. Wander along treelined paths near Ayron where you can spot kingfishers and the occasional deer. Each trail is sure to delight the pooch who loves getting his paws wet!
Dogs Dinner
Our favourite local restaurant, where you can sit indoors or out, is in St. Loup where dogs are allowed. About twelve minutes from the house, the low key Pizza L’Expresso (don’t be put off by the name!) has engendered fabulous reviews from guests. From ‘The best pizza I’ve ever tasted’ to ‘Can they open in Thame?’ they have won the hearts of many of our guests.
Dog Sitting
For days out, activities and restaurant bookings that aren’t suitable for dogs, a dog sitting service is available with our personal dog sitter, Wendy Greenfield. Full or half days of dog sitting are available, please contact her direct on +33 (0) 6 32 90 17 16.
Dog Dedicated
The local veterinary clinic in Parthenay (English speaking), will arrange an appointment for the necessary tablets for taking your dogs back to England, or any other dog-related issues.
